About Poppy Rat Productions
My name is Iz Zamora, and I'm a filmmaker currently based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I created Poppy Rat Productions (named after a beloved character in my first feature screenplay, beloved by you all too soon enough!) as a formal venture into finally sharing my work.
I've loved film my whole life, and I've been writing screenplays and making movies since I can remember.
This all came to fruition when I wrote and directed my debut short film, 'Crondale Cares', which won the 'Best Comedy' award at Film Prize Junior New Mexico Film Festival in 2024. It is now available on IMDB, The Movie Database, and was even featured on movie-centric social media Letterboxd's 'Top 5,000 Highest Rated On Letterboxd' list that August.​
Outside of self-producing my own films, I am also experienced in several other film positions. I specialize in screenwriting, pre-production, and script supervision, but also have special interest in casting, assistant directing, acting/background work, and whatever else you may need.
I'm always looking to broaden the scope of this company outside of solely myself/my own projects, and am always on the lookout for new, bold, innovative, and downright weird projects to bring to life!
