About Poppy Rat Productions

My name is Iz Zamora, I'm a 21-year-old writer, director, & producer based in Albuquerque, NM, known for my comedy-mockumentary short film series, "Crondale Cares", which won Best Comedy at Film Prize Junior New Mexico & was featured on the Top 5,000 Highest Rated list on Letterboxd, as well as its sequel, "Crondale Cares: Level Up".

I founded this production company, Poppy Rat Productions, in April 2025, and have acted as producer on several short films, live theatre events & commercials since.

​

In July 2026, I wrote, directed, & produced the erotic-drama, "The Dream Synopsis", an exploration of repression and desire. I have always been deeply interested in the taboo & brutal honesty in my works; writing characters with true-to-life dialogue, & most of all, creating all my favorite films I haven't seen made yet.

I am a proud queer & transgender filmmaker, as well as my Hispanic & Chicano background being a big part of my identity. I have never felt properly represented in media, especially on the creative side of the industry, so I strive to inspire those like me to use their voice to tell their unique stories.

Outside of my own productions, I have worked on over 30+ other sets in a variety of positions, including assistant director, script supervisor, production assistant, casting director, actor, art department, locations, storyboard artist & BTS photographer. I specialize in pre-production & helping filmmakers with logistics so they can focus on their creative vision, but also have experience in post-production and distribution.
